NVRAID with Linux

Ever since I got my new raid setup, I could never figure out how to set up Linux. After about a week of messing around, reading posts, and checking scripts, I finally figured out how to get Gentoo to boot with a NVRAID using dmraid (and it still uses the GRUB bootloader!).
I wrote a wiki [...]

Coming to you live from some Mac computer in the Omni-Tech Lab…

As of 5:23 PM Central Time this evening, summer will have passed and fall will be upon us.
Yay.
I really can’t stand this whole Mac thing anymore. Back to Windows [...]

…And the power goes out (only briefly) again here in Menomonee Falls. This would be the second time within the past couple weeks. Previous to this, I can’t even remember the last time we lost power.
Either We Energies is starting to suck even more, or the lightning now has incredible accuracy.
Either way, I know this [...]

Here’s an interesting article from news.com that seems to go against what anyone would think…
Mozilla Web browsers are potentially more vulnerable to attack than Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, according to a Symantec report.
But the report, released Monday, also found that hackers are still focusing their efforts on IE.
The open-source Mozilla Foundation browsers, such as the popular [...]

After bootup, ls /dev/mapper. If you see [...]

You probably would never have known otherwise, so I’ll just tell you now.
The blog engine has been updated and is now running b2evolution 0.9.1 “Dawn”. The big updates on this release are (1) speedy page generations and (2) more spam deterrents. This means the little “Some Viewing Statistics” link on the sidebar will no longer [...]

Problematic XP

So yesterday I wanted to install my two 160GB SATA hard drives. Then I wanted to raid (stripe) them up, then reinstall Windows and have my system back up and running again. It was midnight. I had plenty of time. Or so I thought.
Installing the drives went fine. Setting up the raid was fine. I [...]

More WCTC Network Rants

I’m about 95% certain that World of Warcraft is locked out on the WCTC network. I’m able to connect to the authentication server, but I am not able to connect to the game servers. There still is that speck of hope that perhaps we’re *supposed* to see the “Connected” box for a very long time, [...]
