Ever since I got my new raid setup, I could never figure out how to set up Linux. After about a week of messing around, reading posts, and checking scripts, I finally figured out how to get Gentoo to boot with a NVRAID using dmraid (and it still uses the GRUB bootloader!).
I wrote a wiki at the Gentoo Wiki to show what all I did. Hopefully this will solve a major battle that many a person as been fighting in the Linux community…
