It’s here! A public beta! Like everything else!
Now it’s your turn to take Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 and play with it, talk with it, poke it with a stick.
Go Download it Now so I can see if it displays my blog correctly (which would imply it’s finally respecting web standards).

Update: I’ll be damned! It [...]

How does Blizzard do it?

I was reading the comics at work yesterday and came across FoxTrot. I know Mr. Amend was a big fan of World of Warcraft, but didn’t expect to see one of his “World of Warquest” comics appear on a Sunday. Nevertheless, the comic shown Sunday (link) showed Jason playing the game and getting an incredible [...]

Jeff Kaplan Interview

The New York Times has an interview with World Of Warcraft Lead Game Designer Jeff Kaplan, in which he talks about the next raid dungeon after Ahn’Quiraj, the necropolis Naxxramas.
“Naxxramas is going to be the most difficult thing in the game until the expansion pack comes out. It will be the pinnacle, and it’s absolutely [...]

Dance Monkeyboy!

Steve Ballmer is an important guy. Not only is he the CEO of Microsoft, he also has a Hitlist (offically named his hitlist of people he is going to “fucking kill”).
Either way, because Ballmer is a big hotshot in a big company, he’s subject to ridicule. Like the infamous Developers movie, showing him running around [...]

T-14 Work Days

Well, the final move was made yesterday. The inevitable two-weeks notice was left on Don’s desk before I left work. Seeing that I work today 2:30-11, I’ll probably hear his response. I have no idea what his reaction will be, but I’ll be waiting for it.
Now marks the final 14 days of my Sentry/Raindow/Festival/Sentry working [...]

WiFi and Torrents

Torrents are a wonderful thing, as long as your router doesn’t crap out on you and as long as you’re not using a VoIP phone. As I’ll have to buy a router in the near future, I found a site that listed good and bad routers for P2P/Torrents.
GOOD ROUTERS

Router
P2P program
Effect
Witness

Asus WL-500G (updated firmware)
Bittorrent
Router works Ok.

Half an Anniversary

Today is it. The official half-anniversary. A long and short six months ago I decided to play frisbee from this one girl from work and it’s taken off from there.
Now we face yet another challenge: Her staying here and me in Green Bay. Only time will tell, but I think I’ve got a good feeling [...]

While we’re on topic

Since we’re still talking about WoW here on the blog, I should tell you that I know what the next Alliance race will be in the WoW Expansion. Consider it the “I win” race, as they’ll wipe out even a 40 man raid of elite shamans.
The New Alliance Race
Damn it…

EDIT: The realms have been down [...]

The Secret Behind AQ

For all you WoW fans out there, I need not explain why the Medivh realm was bogged down to the n’th degree. Upon the server event, all level 30s and below were tele-magically ported by GM’s to a random location (be it Orgrimmar, Tirisfal Glades, Thunderbluff, Ironforge, etc.). The realm I play on (Gorefiend) has [...]

The Best Part of Waking Up…

According to this article, I need never drink to know what it feels like to be drunk.
CHICAGO, Illinois (Reuters) — If it takes a while to clear the cobwebs after waking up, that’s understandable — “sleep inertia” leaves some people so groggy they might as well be drunk, researchers said on Tuesday.
“For a short period, [...]
