MCWE: Another Update

I realize a long long long time ago I said I was working on a web interface project for my Media Center (and yes, I was even toying around with the idea long before I even made that post).

I did, but I didn’t get very far. Mostly caused by a lack of interest in coding at the time and frustration at not figuring out why some things weren’t working.

I’m happy to say that lately things have taken a change for the better, and I am, in fact, working on that project again. So far, here’s my rough plan:

Write the library to interface with Media Center. I’m calling this library libemerald, named after the codename for Media Center 2005.

Write the web interface, using libemerald as a backend. I’m calling this interface MCWE (Media Center Web Extender).

Learn C# better, because that’s the language I want to write it in. Yeah, still working on that part. I tried coding a couple days ago, and because I have a strong VB.NET background, I’m sure you can imagine how many things didn’t work and how my logic didn’t click well.

Task for now? Keep reading some books, keep practice coding, and keep getting ideas for this project.
