Alright. I’ll get right to the point. For the second time ever on this blog, I am posting from a Mac. And this time, it’s not temporary.
Now, before you call me a traitor and cast me into the fire, let me get a few points out:
- I am in no way a Mac “fanboy”
- Vista is installed on the MacBook via Boot Camp
- The laptop’s primary function is for work (introducing some Mac compatibility to my network)
- The two-finger click is no substitute for right-click.
On that same note, I’ve already broken up several fights between the MacBook and my other laptops. In the end, it seemed all the Mac wanted to do was give everyone a hug.
So far, it’s been interesting. For one who has never used a Mac extensively before, it’s quite different. Installing applications is just weird, the Mac seems to make a lot of little notification noises, and there’s always at least one icon in the dock that’s jumping up and down, eager to tell me something. This will definitely be a learning experience.
From the ironical department, Windows Vista runs blazing fast on this hardware. I was quite impressed.
I’m going to try blogging exclusively on the Mac for awhile. It seems like a good “writing” laptop, and I’ve found some pretty sweet applications for offline blogging (ecto) and RSS feeds (NewsFire).
Alright. I think I’ve said all I need to say. Bashing may ensue below.
